Here is a rebroadcast from about a year ago....Kevin Hawkins is the bassist for "Sons of Skynyrd" the band from "Kimmy vs. The Reverend" that played "Freebird" with Titus during the bar scene from the movie.
This episode's guest, Kevin Hawkins, is the bassist for "Sons of Skynyrd" a Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute band that was the band that Tituss Burgess sang with during the "Freebird" scene in the Netflix Movie- "Kimmy vs. The Reverend", the interactive special based on "The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" series. He performs with several tribute bands as well as bands that perform original music all over the country. In this episode he tells us of some of the folks he's performed with, what it was like working with Jeff Richmond on the music for the "Freebird" scene in "Kimmy", places where you may have heard his music (and not even known it), a great Eddie Money story, and a few "Spinal Tap" moments he's had performing music in the past!
